Belgian beer festivals

First beer festival in Belgium!

It's surreal to find myself in the Brussels. It's a city that I only used to hear about in the news. To be here because of beer is another story... it almost always sounds like a joke when I tell people that I'm studying how to make beer.

There's not a lot of beer festivals in the Philippines so I thought to check this one out to get a feel of Belgian beer culture. It's too bad I missed a summer full of beer festivals! But there was no way to arrive in Belgium sooner so this will have to do.

Stopped over at the Delirium Cafe too. It's not actually a cafe but a bar. They claim to hold the record for the most number of beers served on premise. It's hard to believe it but I will give the benefit of the doubt. What's surprising for me is that the kegs are just stacked and not refrigerated. Also the dizzying number of taps - it must be hard to be a bartender here.

Brussels is not complete without Manneken Pis. A bit underwhelming seeing this guy in person. But you have to see Janneken Pis...

One of my first beers in Belgium. It's still technically summer so I decided to have a saison.
